Regional Transition Fair
When: Tuesday, March 26, 2013
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Tulsa Community College
Southeast Campus Student Union
81st & Hwy. 169
Each year the Education Access Center (formerly the disABLED Student Resource Center) partners with Broken Arrow and Jenks High Schools to host the Regional Transition Fair. The fair is held to address transition issues affecting students with disabilities who are graduating high school and entering college or seeking employment. Students from 6th through 12th grades, and their parents, are invited to attend from Tulsa and surrounding area school districts. The event is FREE, and a perfect opportunity for students majoring in education, human services, nursing, allied health fields, sociology, social work, psychology, or any major to learn firsthand about support programs and services offered to individuals with disabilities by colleges, universities, technology centers, and community agencies. Faculty may use this event as extra credit or community service for their students. Certificates of Attendance will be available for students or participants who need proof of attendance. There will also be a breakout session to address transitions issues for students with disabilities planning to attend college or entering the work force.
This is also a great opportunity for you to highlight your programs and/or services for students. If you, or a designated representative from your program, are interested in hosting a table at the event, you may complete the form. For those of you who are unable to attend but would like to distribute information about your program or services, please send your information to me at the address below by Friday, March 1, 2013.
